World Chess Olympiad, the biggest and the most prestigious event in chess was hosted in Baku on September 2016. This Olympiad became a record one in terms of the number of participating countries and the quality of organization. The project’s main objectives were to create the mass awareness of the Olympiad both in our country and worldwide as well as to raise the interest to the chess as a sport.
McCann Baku developed the creative part and production materials for the Olympiad, including outdoor and printing materials, indoor branding at Crystal Hall (the event venue), vehicles branding, cups and medals design, website and info bulletin development, as well as entertainment area branding.
The success and highest level of organization of this Olympiad were recognized both by FIDE officials, local and international government bodies, partners, participants and spectators. Baku Chess Olympiad 2016 Operation Committee won an international sports award “Zefer,” established by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the nomination for “Sports Event Organizer of the Year.”
